Useful Tips

  • Do taste the recipe so prepared before feeding it to the baby.
  • The consistency of the soup should be liquid enough when given to the baby at the age of 6 months.
  • Preferably only the liquid portion of the strained soup be served when introducing solids to baby.
  • Gradually, the solid portion of the strained soup can be added to the baby food diet plan.
  • Try to serve the soup warm as seen more liked by babies.
  • The proportion of the ingredients can be altered gradually.
  • Spices should be introduced to babies after 1 year. Alternatively, since asafoetida (hing) helps in reducing colic, bloating and other stomach problems, it can be added to the baby food recipe with tadka of 2 to 3 drops of ghee only.
  • Always check with your paediatrician before giving any new food to the baby.
