The easy and quick lobia recipe makes the snack time healthy and stomach filling. Introducing lobia to the babies from one year and onwards is preferred. Because by that time the baby’s digestive system adapts the new solid food easily.

Ingredients

  • White lobia – ½ cup
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Water – 220 ml
  • Homemade curd – 2 tbsp

How to Make

  • Soak the lobia beans in plain water for overnight.
  • In the morning remove excess water from the beans.
  • Wash thoroughly the beans under the running water.
  • In the pressure cooker add beans and water. Ensure the beans are submerged in the water completely.
  • Add salt to the mixture and close the lid of the cooker.
  • Take two whistles and simmer the flame.
  • Leave it for 10mins and turn off the flame.
  • Before taking the lobia beans out check if they are completely boiled with the help of a spoon.
  • Sieve the mixture to get a smooth texture of the recipe. The outer layer of the lobia beans is hard enough for the babies to chew. Therefore, sieving the mixture is best as it easily removes the skin.
  • To make the recipe runny add water left out in the cooker. This remaining water is very healthy for the baby with all the nutrients of beans.

  • Apply 3-day rule when starting with lobia beans. This rule says that feed the new food to the baby for continuous three days. This helps in judging any side effects of that food to the baby.

If your baby suffers from a colic problem or frequent bowel movements after introducing beans, stop feeding the new food. In that case, it is preferred to introduce that particular food after a few months. So that the digestive glands of the baby become adaptable to some more new solids.
